Financial Worries Abound (Warning: This is a rant!)
As the middle of the month approaches, the bills are piling up. We got our cable tv/internet bill and it is over $300.00 because we have gotten a little behind. We can’t lose our cable not because of the tv, we can live without that, but our internet?? No, no, no, no! We have VOIP telephone and that relies on internet access, also, we do our job hunting on the internet, not to mention blogging and email! I suppose not everyone can appreciate the importance of this, but it has pretty much become a necessity. We don’t have a cell phone right now, because we choose to have pay as you go, and since we had to cut down on some luxuries, this had to be one of them, so if our internet goes, so does any connection to the outside world. Our Electric bill was over $100.00 this month and water/sewer/garbage in this apartment was close to $70.00!
Hubbie’s unemployment ended 2 months ago, and mine is only $500.00 a month. Both of us have health issues and our co-pays for our medications are more than $400.00 per month so there is that! Living in California, that doesn’t even pay the rent! My in laws have been helping us out with that, and for this I am extremely grateful!
As far as finding a job, believe me, I am looking! It seems there are not many offices willing to hire a 51 year old woman to work in their office. Gone are the days when I am a “pretty desk ornament” as some seem to be looking for. It doesn’t matter that I am more than qualified, being proficient in MS Office, typing 50 wpm, with Office Manager/Administrative Assistant experience. I am only looking for an office assistant job for goodness sake! Plus, it’s not like I can take a step backwards and go to work at Wal-Mart or some other retail establishment. With Rheumatoid Arthritis, I am unable to stand for more than 20-30 minutes at at time. I am lost as to what to do. I guess all I can do is pray, and believe me, I have done my share of that! I honestly think God is sick of hearing from me and has ceased listening.

Autism Insights: Thank you for your good wishes. I’m sure they will get better eventually.
It’s just the waiting that I have a hard time with! LOL
So sorry for your troubles! I can certainly relate to the need for internet. Sending you positive energy for things to turn around! Hang in there!
Thank you Roxie, Caregivingdaughter and Storm for your well wishes. Yes, I know times are tough for all of us, let’s just hope that things get better soon. The economy has to improve eventually!
At least I hope so!
I’m sorry for your troubles. Sounds more like reality than a rant, and I can relate. My power bill was a shocking $245 this month. $100 more than the previous month. And my water bill went up.
No matter what, don’t give up!
I pray things will get better for you and your husband real soon.
May God bless you both.

Times are sure hard. I hope that things turn around soon for you and your husband. Take care.
I know I was horrified when I saw the cost of our electric bill this past month – holy smokes, all our bills keep rising! I can’t live without our internet either. Hang in there – I hope the right jobs lands on your laps very soon!
